On Sunday, the Ladies 1XI made the long journey to Stafford for their cup semi-final clash. Stafford struck early, taking the lead within the first five minutes with a powerful strike from the top of the D. The early goal sparked the Hawks into action.

Determined to respond, the team won a short corner, and a well-executed ball from Beth Wilson was brilliantly deflected into the net by Angela Barry, leveling the score. Hawks began to dominate possession, though Stafford remained a threat on the counter.

A brilliant run from Saskia Maynard saw her send a perfect ball across the D, where Georgia Robertson was waiting on the post to sweep it in, giving Hawks a 2–1 lead. However, Stafford hit back just three minutes later with an equaliser, making it 2–2 at half-time.

With tensions high, Hawks continued to push for a winner, creating several chances but struggling to convert. Finally, after a scrappy battle in the D, Saskia Maynard found the back of the net, putting Hawks 3–2 ahead with just seven minutes to play.

The final minutes were nerve-wracking, but Hawks defended resolutely and held onto their lead to secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory.

They now head to Lee Valley on Monday, 5th May for the finals — let’s go Hawks!
