Welcome to the home page of Sunbury and Walton Hawks Hockey Club. We are a thriving and ambitious club based at St Paul’s Catholic College, Sunbury-on-Thames. During the season, we field 6 men’s and 4 ladies teams on a Saturday and we coach over 250 colts on a Sunday. We have close links with the local community and offer coaching lessons for local schools to encourage children to take up hockey from an early age.
Our club values are simple. We are inclusive – all ages and all abilities are welcome and we are competitive and friendly. As a club, we are magnanimous in victory, dignified in defeat  and always courteous on and off the pitch. We wear our shirts with pride and play to the best of our ability for our club and our team mates. We are undoubtedly one of the most social hockey clubs in Surrey. If this sounds like the club for you, whether you are new to hockey, looking for a change of club or blowing the cobwebs off your stick, then we look forward to welcoming you at our clubhouse (The Hawks Nest).

Chris Ctori – Sunbury and Walton Hawks Chairperson

Welcome back everyone to the Nest for the 2020/2021 season

We are pleased that England Hockey have secured approval to move to Stage 5 of their plan which includes the resumption of League Hockey from 26th September. This means both Men & Ladies Saturday leagues, and colts Sunday training and matches, will start as scheduled and all fixtures are now available on the relevant websites with home games appointed start times. Most adult teams will now also be playing friendly fixtures until the leagues start so please confirm your availability to Captains ASAP.

To ensure the safety of all of our members, we have implemented a strict cleaning regime, sanitising stations, socially distanced the table settings and with teams visiting this week, we will be introducing a one way system through the toilets, the exit will be externally at the side of the club house.

At present the changing rooms and showers cannot be used as this will allow for clear access to the toilets but the bar is available for members only, unfortunately this means we cannot welcome our opposition until further notice, and we will not be providing teas. Can we please ask that all teams communicate with their opposition prior to their arrival to manage expectation.

Club Subscriptions

With league hockey getting the go ahead, we are pleased to announce that the club have managed to keep Club Subscriptions the same as last year, please complete your membership application and pay your annual subscription.

A hugely important part of Hockey is the umpires and whilst we are lucky to have a couple of regular volunteers that support each week, we do need more support. Everyone should be confident to umpire a match and so we are looking to arrange a Level 1 Course – details will be distributed ASAP and will be FOC to anyone using the qualification for the club. If you can support, please email Nicky: umpires@swhawks.com

A message from our Covid Officer

As you know COVID has brought a large number of additional responsibilities on our club, predominantly the Track and Trace and Participation Agreement requirement, as we aim to keep everyone safe.

Firstly a BIG thank you to everyone who has helped make sure we have made a brilliant start to the Participation agreement signing.

As I am sure everyone knows players will NOT be eligible to play in any match for the club without filling in the participation agreement. Here is the link to fill one in:
