Ladies 3rd XI
Ladies 3rd XI
The ladies 3s play in Surrey Women’s Open League Division 7
Captain – Liza Croxford
18th Feb v Richmond 6s (home) W 4-3
The only other ladies team in action were the Ladies 3’s who like the Men’s 2’s came from behind to take all 3 points. Reports suggest Michelle Stevenson was to blame for Richmond’s goals so when she took a ball to the nose (check our facebook group for photos) and was rushed to the bar to wipe her face the fight back ensued. Julie Spells and Beth Hayward both fighting for Top Female Scorer bagged themselves a brace each and winning the game 4-3. That closes the gap to only 2 points behind the same Richmond side with a game in hand, well in touch of automatic promotion.
04th Feb – Cancelled due to weather
28th Jan v Woking 3s (home) W 10-1
The Ladies 3’s were facing Woking in the 10am Home Slot and what a spectacle it was – whilst Woking were bottom of Surrey Div 8 they hadn’t actually conceded that many goals. Well that changed on Saturday when the Hawks buried 10 past them to jump into 3rd place above Guildford. Julie Spells bagged 4 taking her tally to 9 for the season, Anita Eyles & Izzy Humphrey got 1 each and Charlotte Johnson and Michelle Stevenson bagged a brace each. Woking did get a consolation goal due to a blip in concentration but a well-deserved
21st Jan v Richmond 5’s (away) W 1-2
The Ladies 3’s was a bit close but the 2-1 defeat of Richmond 5’s sees the girls retain 4th spot and within catching distance of the Top 2 Promotion spots? Both of the goals came courtesy of Julie Spells and the girls will be looking for another 3 points when facing bottom of the league Woking in the 10am game at The Nest.
